Wormwood
Essential oils
Wormwood essential oil is a high-intensity material with a dry bitter-herbal, camphoraceous, and spicy-balsamic profile. Due to its high aromatic strength, it is generally used at low dosage levels in formulations.
Description
In perfumery, the oil is of interest for bitter-herbal, aromatic, absinthe, and experimental concepts. For industrial use, the species and chemotype must be controlled, as the content of thujones and other components affects permitted applications and use-level restrictions.
